HostelTrends serves hostel owners, operators, investors, and suppliers with useful, evidence-led reporting and practical guidance. Maya Akinwale is the accountable editor for our editorial standards, corrections, conflicts, and exceptions.
Sourcing and accuracy
We aim to answer specific hostel-operator questions with evidence that readers can assess. Significant articles identify their author, editor, publication date, and relevant disclosures. We distinguish reported facts, calculations, analysis, opinion, and sponsor claims. We prefer primary documents and named sources, record source dates, and explain material uncertainty or limitations.
Corrections
If we publish a material error, we correct it promptly and add a clear correction note where appropriate. Readers may report an error, missing context, or update through our contact channel. The accountable editor reviews correction requests and records significant changes.
Sponsors, affiliates, and conflicts
Paid, sponsored, partner, and affiliate material is clearly labeled. Sponsors do not control editorial conclusions, source selection, or corrections. Contributors and editors must disclose relevant financial, professional, or personal conflicts; we disclose material conflicts to readers and may reassign the work.
Contributors and bylines
A byline identifies the person or organization responsible for the article. We do not present a fictional identity as a real reporter. Contributor biographies, affiliations, and relevant expertise must be accurate and current. A separate editor credit identifies editorial review once that field is available on articles.
AI use
We may use automation to monitor signals, organize research, or support drafting. It does not replace editorial accountability. We disclose material AI assistance where it affects a reader’s understanding of how work was produced, and a human editor reviews work that is published.
Image rights and authenticity
We use images only when we have permission, a valid license, or another lawful basis to do so. We credit images when required and use accurate captions and alt text. We do not present an AI-generated or illustrative image as documentary photography; material synthetic or altered imagery is labeled accordingly.
